Description

Time to step up from the student’s shelf. This is a 1932 Parker Super Bruyere billiard, shape 1/F — a smooth, classic English billiard with a fishtail stem, made in London at the height of Parker’s patent era. Over ninety years old and remarkably clean, it comes with a blue Parker of London presentation box and satin sock — a proper Parker box, though likely of later vintage than the pipe itself.  This is a find in and of itself and a collector’s piece.

Why a Parker is special:

The Parker Pipe Company was established in London in 1923 by Alfred Dunhill. Briar bowls turned in Dunhill’s own factory that didn’t pass final inspection for the white spot were finished and sold under the Parker name — meaning a Parker began life as the same briar, shaped in the same factory, by the same craftsmen as a Dunhill. Pipe historian John C. Loring noted that it is precisely the pre-war Parkers like this one that are most likely to be genuine Dunhill factory “failings.” In 1967 Parker merged with Hardcastle to form Parker-Hardcastle Ltd. You can read the full history on Pipedia.

Dating this pipe:

Parker stamped a date code immediately after the MADE IN LONDON over ENGLAND nomenclature. This pipe carries a plain “9” — in Parker’s pre-war sequence (which began at 1 in 1924) that dates it firmly to 1932, a textbook pre-war Parker.

Includes the 1932 Parker Super Bruyere Billiard 1/F with a Parker of London box, satin sock, and polishing cloth, plus a custom pipe tamper, 1 Czech tool, pipe cleaners, 6x 1/2 ounce mylar bags totaling 3 ounces of hand-selected bulk and tin tobacco, and free USPS shipping (US ONLY). Like the scholar, this kit lets you select the pipe — but from the higher-grade shelf.

You’re purchasing the pipe and kit, and are receiving free samples of  6×1/2 ounce mylar bags totaling 3 ounces of tobacco of hand-selected bulk, and tin tobacco
